How Good Is Good Enough? by Andy Stanley’s book is an incredible journey into the problem of sin, arrogance and the American religious view. Stanly hits the hammer on the head with the problem. He is clever, engaging and savvy in keeping the reader interested.
The end was the problem. He insists on maintaining the American Evangelical view that man must meet God by “accepting” Him. This is a profoundly unbiblical view. Even though he diagnosed the problem correctly, he misses by implying that you have to be good enough to accept Jesus. Ironically, from His own writing that he conclusively that man can’t do ANYTHING… A N Y T H I N G to help us to be saved. Too bad, I would have loved to see a stronger confession of the Holy Spirit who gives faith.
